 A Global Response

"HIV/AIDS can be called the first epidemic in an area of Globalization. What was once troubling the Industrialized World is now spreading rapidly in developing countries. More than 95 percent of the newly-infected people are in Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and South East Asia. Which is why, this global challenge calls for an effective Global response."

Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Former PM of India

Despite the devastating effect of the AIDS epidemic, it is important to note that the vast majority of people throughout the world have not been infected.

Even in sub-Saharan Africa, the region most affected, more than 90% of all people are uninfected.

Prevention remains an urgent priority to help people stay uninfected and to protect future generations.
